It all started in 2016 when three professionals from completely different industies representing Photography, IT and Finance randomly chosing to sit at the same desk on the first day of their MBA program.
During those intense years of study, late-night brainstorming sessions, and challenging assignments, Roshana, Rukshan, and Yushantha forged a bond that extended beyond the program curriculum. They have been having many of their Friday beer catch-ups ending up discussing on starting a new business venture together.
It was the year 2022, when Sri Lanka faced one of the toughest economic challenges in its recent decades. No vehicles could be found on streets due to fuel shortage, there were regular power cuts and the Sri Lankan Rupee was depreciating steaply against the US Dollar, losing its value by 50% in a few months.
This crisis situation created a topic for our beer conversations. This is where the trio identified tourism as an industry which will bounce back in near future, which layed the foundation for the travel company Cinnamon Isle been started a year later.
Cinnamon Isle from its inception, never wanted to become just another tour company which focus on creating profit, but started with a much larger vision to become one of the best tour companies in South Asia. Sri Lanka been one of best tourist destinations in Asia, this dream had the pre-eminent location to grow into its reality.
